David Adams Richards will be the guest speaker at the 6th annual Lady Tommies media night coming up on Friday. When Bill Hunt of the Daily Gleaner spoke recently with Richards, "He said he has "loved women's hockey from the first women's world championships in the late 1980s." And now that he's living in Fredericton full time, "St. Thomas will be my team." Daily Gleaner: Adams Richards out to support 'my team' and Adams Richards to speak at STU women's hockey media night

It's a Moncton Weekend. Both hockey teams will do battle with the Aigles Bleu(e)s this weekend. The Ladies play their first games of the preseason with a home and home series starting in Moncton at 6 PM on Saturday night and returning to the Lady Beaverbrook on Sunday at 3PM. The Men play their third preseason game against Les Aigles in Shediac Friday night, with game time at 7 PM.

Matt Eagles at Moose camp. The people of Winnipeg might get a glimpse of a familiar name if they head out to the Manitoba Moose training camp this week. Of course we all know Mike Eagles played for the Winnipeg Jets for 5 years and now his son Matt has returned on a try out for the Moose. Winnipeg Free Press: Moose Training Camp

New Home for the Tommies. It may look like a pile of dirt now but in a few months the new home for our hockey teams will be underway. Here is the most recent update on the "Grant-Harvey Centre". Daily Gleaner: Architect gets OK to complete arena design

  1. I'm confused, isn't matt playing for stu?

  2. Matt had a try out with Manitoba hoping for a shot with the AHL team. Unfortunately for Matt he was cut today, as were 19 others including Scott Hotham, formerly of SMU.

  3. so now STU is going to dump a million or so into their Hockey programs by buying a portion of the new Rink????? How can they continue to do this and then force professors to go on strike, and raise our tution costs. And don't tell me the womens and mens hockey teams bring in those kinds of funds. I wonder what the total cost must be to have small market losing teams??? Perhaps the Hockey coach and Athelitic Director need to be two different people?? Yes UNB lost their womens program because of a former Athletic director who wanted it to fail and did not make any move to support it. Now, on the other face of the hill we have a "hockey guy" AD who will force through hockey programs at the expence of all else. If you look at the any success either of these teams have, it is always behind a goalie anyway.

  4. ^^^Why do you always complain about the team? This isint a whiners fourm!
