  1. A direct and forthright commentator on matters as he saw them will be missed on any number of debates no matter which view you happen to hold or support....a far to young a man to hsve left the scene and there will be a void in all future debates, condolances to his Family & friends.

  4. Thanks guys for the nice tribute on your site. Mike was an ardent university sports fan, loved to cover basketball, hockey, whatever...he had a special affinity for women's sports.says those kids were so easy to deal with and were tickled pink that media would be covering their games and want to talk with them. He spent many years giving back coaching women's hockey at UNB (Red Blazers). He made no secret of his disdain for what UNB did in clubbing its women's hockey team two years ago. He had an unique perspective on the move and thought it was wrong. And said so publicly. UNB had its reasoning and some of it is legitimate to be sure. But Mike argued that it was sending a wrong message to young women out there who wanted to experience all of what university life could offer, part of that being athletics. To see what Peter Murphy has done with the STU women's hockey program was something Mike would talk about from time to time...he had considerable praise for what that program is all about. We're going to miss him dearly, because he was such a passionate and articulate individual. Again, thanks for the tribute. His family appreciates all the sentiments coming forth in the wake of what has transpired.
