Tommies win Lou Chabot Memorial Game

As predicted, the Tommies bounced back following their home opener loss last night and went on to defeat the DAL Tigers 5-2 in the ANNUAL LOU CHABOT GAME tonight.

We were pleased to have Lou's mother with us once again, and happy the boys were able to give her a win. Rookie Brendan Childerley with 2 goals and an assist led the way for the Tommies who out played and out shot their opponents 29-19.

Dal opened the scoring at the 33 second mark and led 1-0 after the 1st. The Tommies roared back in the 2nd as Childerley went to work scoring both his goals, the first unassisted and the second assisted by Cameron & Zanbeek to give STU a 2-1 lead heading into the 3rd.

The Tigers scored first in the 3rd to tie the game but the Tommies would not be denied on this night as they reeled off 3 unanswered goals by Jon Bonneau (Martin, Levesque); rookie Jason Trott (Cameron, Childerley) and Rob Zanbeek (Levesque, Cameron).

Alex St. Arnaud who got the start and win in nets for the Tommies was solid, making 17 saves. Brendan Childerley was named "Player of the Game".  The Tommies move back to .500 and continue to impress under new coach Pat Powers.

This game summary, compliments of our friends at Coca-Cola Refreshments.

Alex St.-Arnaud with his first career CIS win.
