...the kind of example an athlete should strive to be...

From Bill Hunt in today's Daily Gleaner regarding the hiring of Mike Eagles as STU (interim) athletic director. Specifically...

It's been an exhausting round of "Work. Sleep. Repeat" over the last couple of weeks, but while spending too much time in the office, I have observed:

That the hiring of Mike Eagles as athletic director at STU was, and will turn out to be, a good move. And by the standards of academia, which usually moves at glacier-like speed in the decision-making process, a quick one.

The Tommies program needs someone to have their hand on the tiller as they steer into a new season. And Eagles is a smart man and a hard-working man and the kind of example an athlete should strive to be.

There's more interesting stuff there, including some wise counsel regarding the future home of the Tommies, so check out the full story.
