Tommies Fall Hard on the Island

The Men's Tommies had a hard night in Charlottetown. The Tommies squared off against the UPEI Panthers for the 7pm start. The Panthers came into the game getting an extra nights rest, after having their game cancelled the night before in Moncton due to high winds on Confederation Bridge.

The hard charging Panthers opened the scoring early putting four up on the board to the Tommies one. The Tommies lead the period in shots though, 11-10. Also in the first period rookie Kody Orr from Lower Sackville, NS, scored his first CIS goal on a shorthanded marker assisted by Jonathan Bonneau.

The second period started much the same way the first period did with UPEI sliding five more goals past Tommies goaltender, Alex St-Arnaud, who was masterful against the Squirrels the previous night. Jordan Thomas scored in the period for the Tommies, also getting his first CIS goal in his AUS career, the helpers went to Stephen Sanza and Brendan Childerly. The Panthers lead the way in shots as well as the goal column, in the second. Shots on goal were 16-11, Panthers.

Tyler Piercy started the third period, holding his own only allowing the Panthers to get one passed him in eight shots. The final score was 10-2 for UPEI. The final shots on goal were 34-28 for UPEI.

The Tommies are coming home to a game on Wednesday night at the GHC at 7pm against UdeM.
