Tommies humbled in Moncton

The St. Thomas Tommies women's team headed to Moncton today hoping to settle the score somewhat after a disappointing 6 - 1 loss to Les Aigles in the pre-season. It didn't work out that way and STU lost by the same margin, a 5 - 0 thumping.

The first period was fine as the game remained scoreless. The second period saw U de M score one goal at the 7:00 minute mark, just as a Tommies penalty expired and then the wheels fell off.

Moncton would score 4 times in the third to bury St. Thomas. M-P Arseneault scored 4 times for U de M. Julia Shurun stopped 39 of 44 shots in the loss.

Amanda Burns was named interim Captain of the Tommies for this game in absence of Kayla Blackmore, who is sidelined indefinitely with an injury.
