Tombits

Interview with a goalie: STU Journalism recently caught up with Coach Mike Eagles and new goaltender Charles Lavigne. Check out the Youtube video below.

Mr. Cassidy knows best: Jason Cassidy finds out more about H1N1 in his interview with Tommies' Athletic Trainer Chris Beaudoin, team physician Dr. Graeme Young, and Kelsey Knowles of the women's volleyball team.

Regular season starts on the road: The Lady Tommies begin their regular season on Friday night, 7 PM versus the X-Women in Antigonish. The men head to Moncton to tangle with Les Aigles Bleus. Game time is 7 PM and can be heard live at Rock 'n' Blues 95.7 The Wolf.

Remembering Hammy: The Tommies had a pregame ceremony Friday night honouring long time Fredericton sports fan Roy Dalton Kitchen, better known as Hammy. He intended on being at the STU game Friday night and would have been thrilled with the 10 - 4 result. We extend our sympathies to Mr. Kitchen's family. Gleaner Article

Attention Poolies: Our friends over at UNBHockeyFans.com have invited us to join them in a regular season AUS Men's Hockey Pool.
Think you know AUS hockey? Put your skills to the test by joining our open-invitation, free AUS Hockey Pool. There's no money at stake, just bragging rights. We'll track the results of all competitors by posting weekly standings. The winner will have the right to lay claim to the title of "World's Greatest AUS Hockey Mind" and mock the inferior hockey knowledge of the losers.
Should be good fun, though a test of a Tommies fan's inner fortitude if you find yourself having to secretly cheer for a Squirrel. And you've got to love the trophy...

  3. My condolances to Hammy's family and friends especially son Shawn who is employed at the Beav and like his father a Tommies fan.
One of the regrets I have of living away from the Maritimes is that I miss being able to acknowledge to people the passing of their loved ones.

I met Hammy back in the '60's as he was a friend of then Tommies Coach Bob Mabie and spent many times discussing both Tommies and
Red DEvils hockey as Hammy was a fan of most sports inFredericton,he was a fine gentleman and will be missed by all.
