2008 - 2009 Schedules Released

The countdown to next season has officially begun with the release of the 2008 - 2009 hockey schedules.
Of note:

• The Men's squad open their season on the road Friday, October 17th at Moncton, while the home opener will be Saturday, October 18th as the UPEI Panthers come to town. The Men wrap up their regular season by visiting the Panthers in Charlottetown Saturday, February 14th. How many relationships will be put at risk that night with potentially important matchups?
  
• The Lady Tommies host the Aigles Bleu for their season opener on Thursday, October 16th. The women will finish the regular season on Saturday, February 28th at Mount Allison. This year's championship tourney takes place March 6th - 8th at UPEI.
  
• The Lou Chabot Memorial Game will take place on Wednesday, February 4th, 7:00 pm at the LBR.

Also, nice to see the AUS has corrected the nonsensical playoff format on the men's side. The last two seasons, the quarterfinals were best-of-3, followed by a best-of-5 semifinal, then reverting back to a best-of-3 final. This season, both the quarterfinals and semifinals will be a best-of-3 format, with the AUS champion determined by a best-of-5 final series.
