Lady Tommies Win, Men drop one to X

The Lady Tommies improve to 2 and 0 tonight in exhibition hockey play defeating the Ryerson Rams 4 to 3 in Lethbridge Alberta.

Kelty Apperson scored early in the first period but Ryerson would tie the game before the end of the period.

Emily Francis on the PP from Jordan Miller would give the Tommies the lead back in the second frame before Ryerson rattled off two quick ones to take the lead into the third.

The final frame saw Teah Anderson score her first in green and gold when she tipped in a Jenna Scott point shot just over a minute into the period.  STU took a few penalties but the PK was strong and it gave our new Captain Katie Brewster the opportunity to score the winner unassisted late in the period for a 4 to 3 victory.  Kristin Wolfe got the start in the STU net tonight.

The Ladies are back at it tomorrow versus the Concordia Stingers at 1 PM AST from Lethbridge.

Men's Hockey

The Tommies dropped a 4 to 1 decision tonight versus St-FX in New Glasgow.  The X-Men scored two goals in the first and two in the second to take a commanding four goal lead into the final frame.

Yuri Chermetiev from Alex Leduc and Colin Martin scored on the power play a couple minutes into the third for STU's only marker.  Final shots were close at 28 to 26 for St-FX.

The Tommies return home tomorrow and will have to regroup quickly as they will entertain the Carleton Ravens tomorrow night at 7PM from the Grant-Harvey Centre.  The Ravens lost a close 3 to 2 decision to UNB tonight.
