Mounties Take Game One

The lady Tommies, doing their traditional "T" stretch prior to their game
against Mount Allison.
The Mount Allison Mounties took the first game of the best of three series against our Lady Tommies in front of a home crowd of 100+ fans at the Grant/Harvey Centre tonight. The Mounties got out to a 3-0 lead before the Tommies were able to get their first goal of the game, almost midway through the third period, off the stick of Erin MacIsaac (Thomson, Marcelline). Alternate captain Cassidy McTaggart scored a wrap around goal late in the third period to keep it close an make it a 3-2 hockey game.

Captain Katie Brewster had a late game breakaway on Mounties goaltender Kate O'Brien, but was turned away by the Mount A. keeper. The Tommies poured lots of pressure on late in the third period but no luck would come their way in getting that third and tying goal. The shots on goal were 26-22 in favour of the Mounties.

The Tommies will now head to Sackville on Thursday, where the Ladies shut the Mounties just this past weekend to play in game two, puck-drop is 7pm.
