Not a big fan of female hockey. Since UNB folded and STU started winning, it is obvious that you can buy your way to the top if you are supported by the dollars. When you consider what UNB said it costs to field a winning team, and you consider what STU spends to buy female atheletes, and you consider that there are only so many female hockey players out there, winning simply becomes a matter of who can afford the top few females. If you look at the timing of STU leaving the basement, it was pretty close to UNB havin no funding, and STU girls receiving the big pots of money. The men bring in more money, but there are many, many ex-juniors out there who would rather play for a team like UNB. If UNB girls were given the bucks, and every team in the league for that matter, it would be a tight league and both STU teams would soon be where they belong....last place. Sorry if I sound cranky, but have to work the night shift so my tution dallars can buy pucks.
ReplyDeleteNo excuses ! That was just mean ! Obviously a bias there for UNB ?
